Video card ?

Alright im upgrading from a radeon x300 pci-E in a dell dimension, i dont want a geforce, and i dont want a card that requires a seperate power source. Ive settle on this one POWERCOLOR PCIE HD2600XT 512MB DDR3

Anyone with experience can give me a yay or nay answer about this card or other cards around the same price that could be better ?

Thank you|||The other option to get is the 7600GT. You can probably find one for ~$80. Yes its not DX10, but the 2600XT isn't fast enough to run DX10 code fast enough anyways. (meaning if you are buying the 2600XT to play DX10 games, you are wasting your time/money.) I'm not sure why you said no nVidia cards, they are fine to use. The 7600GT is about the same speed as the 2600XT, its just cheaper.

Other then that, the 2600XT is about the best you can get for ~$100. It would be better for you if you could spend more and get the x1950pro for about $140, but you'd need a new PSU for that, which would end up costing your $200+ total. Don't bother getting the 8600GT, it might be the same price, but its a touch slower then the XT.

EDIT: I didn't list any video cards that are above your PSU abilities. I did mention the x1950pro, but I also mentioned you'd need to buy a new PSU to run it. 2600XT/7600GT, those are your best bet.|||Hey bro, I just got the ATI Saphire 2600xt, it plays games such as oblivion on HIGH, its real great and quiet. Plus you cant beat the $100 price.
