Is dual video card really worth the price?

really what i am asking is the difference between having just one video card and having two of the same video card running. in this case, lets use GeForce 260 as an example.|||The difference is performance. It depends on how much of a gaming enthusiast you are. Most people don't even need a dedicated card, in fact, the GTX 260 is already pretty high-end considering its price. That said, using nVidia SLI or ATI CrossFire just allows you to put up to three/four video cards together for additional performance. Typically, the performance increase is about 30-50%, never 100%. The more GPUs/cards, the less increase per additional card, which is why dual video cards is typically the most recommended. Granted, two consume more power and cost more than one...|||Th performance is only really noticeable when you have 2 or more monitors running. Just buy a better graphics card, it is cheaper.

In short: No.|||It truly is. two 9800gts of the 1GB variety. They're cheap now and its more than enough for games these days.|||no, not unless you want to be a total geek and invest in something totally useless, i mean 1 gfx card is enough, but if you have the inner urge to be super elite and invest in another $200 gfx card that no one will ever see or care about, then yeah go for it.|||yes
