What is the newest and highest performing video card I can get in the $100 - $250 price range?

Just like the question says: What is the newest and highest performing video card I can get in the $100 - $250 price range? I want a good enough card so that I can play games like Modern Warfare 2 and Left for Dead 2 with no problems at all. Right now I'm using an Acer Aspire M5621 stock. It has 6 GB DDR 2 memory (low PC) with an Intel Q8200 processor, so I think I'm good there. I just need a proper card to slap in this baby. Hmm. I personally bought a 70$ (I got a good deal) Nvidea GeForce 9600 GT and it runs really smooth. Look up a card that suits you on tomshardware.com
