What does a low profile video card mean?

I saw a decent video card with a good price on newegg.com, however it says it is a low profile video card. What does that mean?|||Just means that it's a bit smaller in size than other video cards. It may not fit into your computer correctly if it's a true low-profile as it's designed for the "slim type" cases. If it's just a smaller card with the standard size securing strip (the metal piece that on the back of the card) then it should fit in yours.

Unless you're sure about the dimensions, you may want to consider another card or post the link in a question and have someone who can be sure tell you if it will fit in a normal size desktop.|||Do you know what the word "low profile" means? Well if you put that word in front of anything, it would mean it's not the average/standard size and would be a smaller height or dimensions that a typical one. So if someone had low profile Tires, well you should be able to figure it out...|||It means it is made to fit smaller cases where height can limit what can fit inside it. So the video card is shorter than most cards but will still fit into the same slot.|||it means that the video card will not take up as much space inside your computer case as would a regular video card
