How good is this Video Card and How Good is its price?

A programmer friend agreed to sell me an ATI RAEDON 9550 Internal DAC (400Mhz) Video Memory 256MB dual function and directx compliant. (fairly used). He agreed to sell it for $21.

1. How good is this card? (in terms of application support, reliability and ruggedness)

2. Is the price really worth it? What is its normal price? Is this price good relative to its normal price?

3. Would you recommend this card for me? I will be using it to play games like GTA4, Splinters Cell, Prince of Persia, Call of Duty 4; and i will be doing Character Modelling, Rendering, Texturing, Animation, Video Post-editing and special effects.

4. Would you recommend another card which is of a better make and at a relatively cheaper price and better specifications?

Thank you.|||from the 256 MB dual function alone,

maybe PoP or CoD 4 will lag... I havent tried, but maybe you should ask him... I found video card lists and its Direct X compatibles on wiki or just google it... then check prices on ebay even though youre not gonna buy it.

Thank you so much for your answer on my MS Word -font question.. thank God.|||i don't know.i'm sorry.|||its a pretty old card, save your money and invest for a new card|||Not very. This card is VERY, VERY old.

Go with something like this:

These are AGP cards, since I'm assuming that's the type of bus your computer still uses. The third video card is an FX card, designed especially for computer modeling. But the other two can be used for computer animation as well.

EDIT:

The best AGP card you can possibly get, I think would have to be the GeForce 7xxx series of cards...but those are very hard to find, especially in AGP and tend to be expensive because of their rarity.

A little more expensive, but both under $90 a piece.
