What is the best video or graphic card combination for the price and performance?

Should i get 2 good graphic cards that is SLI ready or should I get 1 very good graphic card. Is it better , performance wise, to have 2 graphic cards working together at the same time or having 1 very powerful video card? What do you suggest?|||The performance/price ratio is not very good when it comes to SLI. It's the high power consumption and cooling issues by having two video cards in one computer.

Next, it depends on your budget. I recommend reading this excellent article at Tom's Hardware that was posted yesterday. It lays out the best video card in different price ranges. For midrange cards, I like the x1950, especially for AGP users. For power users, then the Geforce 8800 would be the best choice because it is DirectX 10 certified.

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/01/05/t…|||if u can afford buying a 9800gtx buy it.....coz one 9800gtx easily outperforms two 7600gt in sli....this card is realy better than the 8800gt in terms of AA feature.......it even handled crysis smoother at higher resolutions...

|||dont have to so SLI unless you want too. I havent heard of a game that called for SLI yet. I have 1 BFG 7950 GTX OC 512 Meg PCI express 16 for my new computer. I feel this will be good enough for all my gamming needs. plus get the one great card thats SLI compatible and then down the road you buy another one when you want to go SLI.|||SLI really isn't necessary for most games and can be a ripoff at times; because 2 7600GT's are beat by a single 7950GT. A single graphics card also requires less power and less configuration than SLI, so that is what you should go with.
